AND THE POWER FAILED AGAIN . . .

Sunday afternoon before camp and the power goes off (read my poem about electricity). No RPD, no shower, no world cup final. We managed to watch the final at Bruce’s place once he got his generator going. All the same I have been a whole week with no internet – actually it’s really good (except for catching up later). AND WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT NZ WOULD BE THE ONLY UNBEATEN TEAM FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD CUP!?

But anyhow no RPD means that those with Facebook managed to get information those without Facebook missed out on. I am engaged to Anastasia (Nastya). We plan to get married at the end of August. We are both extremely excited, a little bit nervous and very thankful to God for bringing us to each other.

UTSIM

This week I pick up letters of invitation and will post them to The Gambia and Australia. Please pray that Rufus, Shane and Jemimah will receive their visas in time to travel here for the school year.

BITS AND PIECES

CAMP 120

Firstly, a huge thanks to those who helped get our boat motor. I didn’t need to take the cover off the motor once this year. It was such a blessing to come and go without a hassle. Daniel was even doubly impressed as he was able to get up behind the boat on a wakeboard.

We had 75 people in our regular camping place and we are getting better at setting it up every year. There was a great feel to the community at camp this year. Our theme was Serve and Grow.

Micah started by giving us Jesus’ example from John 13. Jesus knew who He was, where He was going, and even in the face of really difficult circumstances he chose the path of servant hood.

We had great weather and good friendships were made. Camp has become an important annual event in the lives of a number of people. I did basically no advertising – just let people know camp was on. Thanks to all who help make it happen. Especially to Ruth and Jon for the set up and leadership and to Priscilla who feeds the Rzh crew.

In a week’s time my sister and her family from Paraguay will be coming to visit. I am thoroughly looking forward to their coming. Pray that I have a real chance to connect with my nieces and nephew and for them to bond with Nastya and Mikhyey also.
