GOD IS GOD
‘God is God’ is the theme for Camp 120 this year. The four days of teaching are broken up like this:
- God is God – You are not!
- God is God – Worship Him
- God is God – Enjoy Him
- God is God – It’s not a secret
I still haven’t finalised the speakers for camp. Please pray about this. Pray for the softening and readiness of the hearts of those coming to camp. Thinking about and preparing for camp has brought me to realise how much of my life I think about me. Even my work for others, my acts of service or generosity, my thoughts are so focused upon me. My relationship with God even has the danger of concentrating on the word “my”. God created the whole world. God is God of all creation, seen and unseen, known and unknown, past, present, future and all that is outside of time. God is God!
June is a month of pre planning for next year. We have had an early bird sign up day for next year offering a discount for those who pay in advance. We’ve already had 4 new students, some of whom came to our English Festival last week. We have had the interesting situation of parents requesting that their children are not in the same group as other kids because they will fight with each other. Sveta very wisely stepped in saying that we teach not only English but will teach their kids how to get along with and respect each other.
As we plan towards next year, it has become evident that we need more teachers. I’ve written a request for teachers on my website. Please pray about this and pass it on to anyone you believe may be suited to this work.
Gaven and I had a great time in Poland. We couldn’t help comparing everything to life in Ukraine. Geographically they are so close together, but they are poles apart in so many other ways (no pun intended). Sitting in the market square in Wroclaw one evening, we commented how relaxed and happy the outlook of everyone seemed. Gav was impressed with the lack of stray dogs and the two huge steaks he consumed (not to mention all the snacks between snacks between meals!). I was most impressed by Zakopane. Simply beautiful mountains and clean green scenery. I definitely want to go back there for a longer time. We also met up with Polish friends Jo and Maggie who were most impressed with Gaven’s GPS (when it worked).
This coming Sunday is All Church again. I really appreciate these times together and want to go out of my way to get to know some of the older believers from our town.
I’m heading off to Chernihiv for a couple of days next week. I look forward to spending time with Jake and other friends from that town.
Great time in Poland with Gav

Thanks Sam - yeah lots is happening, its good to be a part of what God is doing. Maybe you could be the catalyst to organise a mission trip to Ukraine in 2010. I reckon a few of the guys I used to teach might be interested.
