THOUGHTS
I usually try to write something I have learned or something to encourage or challenge you. I feel flat. I feel like I have nothing to give. We talked about motivation for evangelism at home group this week. I have been thinking about the fact that every single little thing that I do, think, say, plan etc. should be all about the glory of God. I realise that I far too seldom think about the glory of God. My life goes on and now as I think about wanting to live and do everything for the glory of God – I feel very very inadequate.
I guess you can pray for me. God give me a fresh appreciation or even a glimpse of Your Glory.
UTSIM
This month is turning into a really busy one. There seems to be always another thing to turn my attention to. Please pray for some books that were sent to us from Australia. Customs house here is making it particularly difficult for me to receive them.
Pray that God overrules in something which for me is unclear and frustrating. What I have discovered is that they will hold anything that has a value on the declaration sheet over 100 Euros. If you ever post me something here in Ukraine, make sure the value placed on it is lower than that.
Please also pray for a couple of students S and D. They are a brother and sister who are proving to be a handful behaviour wise.
Pray also as the students are preparing something to do at our end of year celebration night. I’m sure the parents will enjoy seeing their students perform.
BITS AND PIECES
Last weekend and this weekend are both long weekends. It’s becoming a routine I could live with! Last Friday Ruth and Jon and I spent half a day in my back yard burning and spraying and cleaning up 5 years of mess. Then on Saturday we worked on Jon and Ruth’s back deck. It’s coming along nicely and they have a great view of the river.
Sunday saw 16 young (and not so young) people squash into my lounge room for a movie and a night of hanging out with no pressure of work the next day. I enjoy these good friends I have here.
Monday was a first for me in Ukraine. A continuation of the long weekend, so Gav and Jon and I headed into Kyiv to play cricket. It was my first time in ages. I wicket kept and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Jon and I both outscored Gaven – something that he feels pretty badly about.
This weekend I’m going to watch Ukraine vs. Moldova in a rugby test match. Should be fun.
