Do you ever sit down and work out what happened to the last 168 hours? Sometimes the time flies by and I wonder what I actually did last week. It seems that many little things combine to fill the hours and next thing I'm sitting down writing the next RPD.

I spent 3 mornings studying Ukrainian, and the same 3 afternoons having my lessons. It's going ok. I must have patience as well as diligent hard work.
I've spent a few hours working on the heating system for the house. It's running but not properly. As I write, Kolya and Alyosha are trimming the trees round the chimney and working out how to extend the chimney so that it draws better.
I spent a bit of time taking the boat out of the water, and giving it and the motor a good clean down. Next spring I want to paint it and get it ready for the summer months.

I've spent more time than I wish on public transport. Soon this will be a thing of the past (DV). I am now preparing to build a garage for the van I will buy. A truckload of sand has just arrived and later this week we will have rocks and gravel. We need to build a retaining wall and lay foundations for a 6m x 3m slab. I'll send photos as we make progress.

On Saturday I ran 5kms in the Kyiv State Athletics Championships. If you want to know how that went, read the blog on the website.

I spent some time preparing devotions for youth group. We talked about the issue of money in the story of the rich young ruler. Not that any of us are extremely rich, but Jesus was looking at the heart attitude. Did the man want to follow Jesus, or his worldly possessions? It is possible to have very few possessions and still have them as the goal of our lives. We played a youth group game called Romanopoly. This game makes some people rich, some people poor, and some people slaves. It was interesting to talk about people's attitudes and desires regarding being monetarily successful.

I have another boarder with me for 3 weeks while he does some study at one of the technical schools. That makes 5 blokes in our house. its hard to keep the food stocked up.

Autumn here so far has had beautiful weather. We have had a very dry and sunny autumn, and the place looks lovely. I have to sweep or rake leaves regularly.

Praise God
for beautiful weather
that I finished my race

Pray for
the work around the house that needs to be done before the winter sets in
for continued diligence in language study
for our Christian youth to be passionate about their lost friends

Thanks to
God for painting such beautiful autumn colours - it is truly beautiful here at this time of year
