RPD 13 June 2007 Praise the Lord

There are so many reasons to praise the Lord. I remember a song that says:
“Lord I praise you because of Who You Are, not for all the mighty things that you have done.”
The Bible tells us to praise God – when my attitude is one of praise to God – life with Him just fits – it works.

• Praise Him for life.
• Praise Him for friends.
• Praise Him for the sun and rain.
• Praise Him for the beautiful nature I see around me every day.
• Praise Him for good food to eat every day.
• Praise Him for running water in the house again – and hot showers!! Thanks to Kolya and Alyosha for making it happen.
• Praise Him for a new paint job on the boat – for friends helping me get it into the water – and for the motor working. A funny story about the motor. When I got the boat in the water, it didn’t want to start – I suspected this so I called a guy who said he’d be willing to help. He was busy but told me to check the spark plugs. I was just starting to take them out, when another guy comes and says “let me have a look”. He removes the spark plugs, takes one look at them, and in one sweeping movement tosses them into the water and says “you need new spark plugs”. As I forlornly look in the direction of the ever expanding ripples in the water – I agree with him that now I definitely need new spark plugs. They did the trick – I took the boat for a test run and she was great. Praise God
• Praise Him for new house guests. Masha has moved into one of the outside rooms for the summer. As a result this room and my shed got a thorough cleaning out on Saturday. Another guy Sasha is going to live with me for most of the summer. He studies here in Rzhyshchiv, but the dormitories close down over the summer time.
• Praise God for the opportunity to meet with the man who is helping me register the business here. This happens later today – and I believe we are just a couple of steps from completion.
• Praise Him for Natasha helping me with the translation for all the business stuff.
• Praise Him for everything!

Talk to Him all day and just allow your life to abide under His shadow. That sounds very cliché I know. But it is taking the focus of life away from me and placing it on to Him that causes life to make sense.
The heavens declare His glory. All creation should declare His glory. His glory is supremely glorious. We cannot add to His glory, we can just join the rest of His creation in proclaiming it.
Praise the Lord.

PS. This RPD sounds really spiritual. I don’t want to look spiritual in people’s eyes. I am only righteous in God’s eyes because of the blood of Jesus. But I do want to praise Him for everything and encourage you all to do the same.
