STUFF

On the way to Ukraine I stopped in Dubai and spent the better part of a day at the Dubai Mall. This included a quick lift up to the 124th floor of the world’s highest building. I was overawed by what man had accomplished – and in a desert! Yet that is exactly it, what MAN has accomplished. And the mall is testament to what mankind clamours after. Stuff! Lots of expensive stuff. Read my poem Islamterialsim to know more of what I felt. What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world yet lose his own soul?

UKRAINE CONNECTIONS

People. I guess really that is what this week has been about so far. I have met up with lots of friends and neighbours. It is good to be back. Yesterday we celebrated Jemimah’s birthday and it was great to be back in Ruth and Jon’s house again. I also had a bunch of people over on Friday evening and we commented that it felt like old times and almost seemed like it could have just been a few weeks ago we were together. I did get a little extra help with cleaning the kitchen which made things easier. I still have a bit of cleaning to do on the house and yard. I also have some rather major jobs and decisions to make as to how to go about it and how much to spend. The water, heating system, insulation of parts of the house and electricity all need a bit of a major renovation. Igor, Andrei and Vitya are my house guests for the summer with another guy coming for a few weeks soon. Please pray for Vitya – I think he is near to entering the Kingdom of God.

This week I will help out at a kids club on Tuesday – just like I have been doing back in Australia. Please pray for the local outreach that is ongoing here in Rzhyshchiv. I have not heard anything new on Vlad’s situation as yet.

AUS CONNECTIONS

It is less than a week that I was in Australia, and yet it seems a whole world away. Thanks to everyone at West Penno who has been an encouragement to me recently. I will miss your fellowship but will be back soon. Please continue to pray for Kids Club. I am regularly reminded of how precious children are and I believe God has a special place in his heart for them.
